The overall purpose of the Center is to enhance the effectiveness of the assessment, investigation, and prosecution of elder and dependent adult abuse cases in San Francisco. By a collaborative effort, this will improve each participant’s response to incidents of abuse and strengthen the working relationships between the participants. Consultation at an early stage and throughout helps to determine the best course of action. An effective Center will in many cases prevent future elder abuse, and will raise public awareness of the problem of elder abuse.
